A Joint meeting of inter-provincial coordination committees of all Pakistan Bar Councils was held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council on 05-24-2024. In which Hon’ble Vice Chairman Islamabad Bar Council, Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi and esteemed representatives of Provincial Bar Councils, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir as well as Members of Pakistan Bar Council and Judicial Commission of Pakistan participated.

The Islamabad Bar Council (IBC) is pleased to announce that a meeting was held today, between Vice Chairman, Islamabad Bar Council, Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi and the Vice Chairman of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council, Syed Ashfaq Hussain Kazmi. It was unanimously resolved that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Councils on 17-02-2024, shall be effective immediately, in its true letter and spirit. All the Advocates enrolled with the Islamabad Bar Council are now entitled to appear, act and plead in all the Courts in under the jurisdiction of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and vice versa, the Advocates enrolled with the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Bar Council are entitled to appear, act and plead in the courts of the Islamabad Capital Territory. During the meeting, the Worthy Vice Chairman, Aj&k Bar Council presented the official MoU notification to Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi, Worthy Vice Chairman, Islamabad Bar Council, and he assured that the notification has also been disseminated across the entire state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Worthy Vice Chairman, Aj&k Bar Council Syed Ashfaq Hussain Kazmi, was further pleased to announce that, the Advocates enrolled with the Islamabad Bar Council shall avail the same discount available to the Advocates of the AJ&K Bar Council, at the different tourists’ spots in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi, Hon’ble Vice Chairman, Islamabad Bar Council alongwith Riasat Ali Azad, President Islamabad High Court Bar Association participated in a seminar organized by the Press Council of Pakistan (PCP), chaired by the Mr. Arshad Khan Jadoon, Chairman Press Council of Pakistan. Wherein Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi addressed the crucial topic of freedom of the Press and the responsibility that accompanies it.
Hon’ble Vice Chairman highlighted the delicate balance between press freedom and the need for responsible journalism. He said that a free press is vital for a healthy democracy, but it must also operate with accountability and respect for the rights of others.
  • Today, the Islamabad Bar Council proudly hosted its First Moot Court Competition, under the supervision of the worthy Vice Chairman, Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi. We extend our sincere appreciation to the esteemed Advocates whose participation enriched the event. Special gratitude is extended to Qazi Rafee-ud Din Babar, Advocate Supreme Court, for graciously presiding over the Moot Court proceedings as the Honourable Judge.

The Hon’ble Justice Islamabad High Court, Mr. Mohsin Akhtar Kayani addressed and distributed the enrollment certificates to newly enrolled advocates of District/Lower Court.

By the tireless efforts of Raja Muhammad Aleem Khan Abbasi, Honourable Vice Chairman, and the Members, Islamabad Bar CounciI, today Islamabad Lawyers Complex was inaugurated by his Excellency Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Pakistan along with Rana Sanaullah Khan, Federal Minister of Interior and Mr. Azam Nazeer Tarar, Hon’ble Federal Minister of Law and Justice.
The Honourable Prime Minister while expressing his happiness over the construction of the Islamabad Lawyers Complex, announced a grant of Rupees 1.85billion for the said construction. He further praised the role of Legal Fraternity in restoration of the Judiciary and Rule of Law in Pakistan.

The Annual General Meeting of Islamabad Bar Council was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Jahangir Khan Jadoon, Advocate General Islamabad/Chairman Islamabad Bar Council, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Islamabad High Court, Islamabad for the election of Vice Chairman and reconstitution of Committees for the year 2023.
Raja Muhammad Aleem Khan Abbasi was unanimously elected as Vice Chairman of Islamabad Bar Council, and Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Abbasi as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Islamabad Bar Council for the year 2023.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the modalities for the introduction of Bar Vocational Course for training of young lawyers in compliance of the orders of the Honourable Apex Court

An MOU has been concluded between Islamabad Bar Council through Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi, Worthy Chairman, Human Rights and Legal Aid Committee and Legal Aid & Justice Authority (LAJA) through Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan. The LAJA will refer the cases of vulnerable segments of the society to IBC and IBC will distribute the cases among the learned Advocates/volunteers on panel.

The Islamabad Bar Council in compliance of the Judgment laid down by the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan has started the Bar Vocational Course for the law graduates wishing to enrol as lawyers.
It is clarified that as per dictum of the Honourable Supreme Court, no one will be issued licence to practice law, unless he has attended the Bar Vocational Course.
The learned Legal fraternity of Islamabad is requested to convey the pre requisite to those wishing to obtain licence to practice law, so they can enrol for the Course.
